Short Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering for worthy causes is always a rewarding experience as acts of charity enrich a person's character by rewarding the individual in a spiritual and lasting way that has been enjoyable. Brief volunteer trips out of the country are an excellent way that volunteers can give of themselves while also learning about the world.

Volunteering as a family allows the members to work together in ways that cannot be performed on traditional vacations. As the family members volunteer, they cooperate with one another in meaningful ways that are not possible on traditional vacations. Yet, they still have the advantages of experiencing the cuisine and seeing the attractions of their location. Such a program provides activities in which all family members are involved, making for a meaningful multi-generational experience. Those interested in opportunities for family volunteering can travel together on memorable programs.

Since 2007, International Volunteer HQ Limited (IVHQ), is a trusted volunteer travel company in which Mercury Capital, the Sydney investment company acquired a majority stake. Founded by Daniel John Radcliffe in 2007, this organization that is based in New Zealand has sent more than 30,000 volunteers on 200 different humanitarian projects to as many as 30 countries. The volunteer programs have been developed to empower environmentally and socially conscious travelers to encourage cultural exchanges that will expand their skills and ambitions. With altruistic ambitions and the development of their skills, these travelers can become empowered to have a meaningful influence on people of other countries which can result in cultural exchanges that bring about the expansion of skills and horizons.

The Belize program focuses on preserving marine life that is endangered in the Caribbean. Volunteers are trained to assist local marine biologists. Those who have diving certification and get PADI qualified for the program gather data, conduct surveys and remove any invasive species around this gorgeous island. This effort involves 13 scuba dives a week for collecting data and surveying. Divers will see lionfish, corals, whale sharks, turtles, queen conch and other fascinating underwater species on their dives.

IVHQ offers various projects such and Animal Care, Conservation and Environment, Renovation and Construction, Community Development, Special Needs Care and Elderly Care. People can match their skills with a project appropriate to them.
